Giants vs. Patriots Football Point Spread: NFL Preseason Odds, Prediction
A rematch of the classic Super Bowl XLVI is on tap for this week as the New York Giants and New England Patriots meet up in the final week of preseason action. While their showdown in the championship game in 2012 was one of the NFL’s best games ever, don’t expect a similar level of intensity in this one. Both teams will be employing plenty of backups as they prepare for the start of the regular season.

Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Pats opened as 3-point favourites (-125) on the Sports Interaction NFL odds board.
Ben McAdoo and his Giants are 1-2 so far this preseason, which means that they are now 3-4 in his two preseasons overall. The good news is that the Giants won their only Week 4 game under McAdoo. They are now 0-4 in the first two weeks of the preseason under him but 3-0 in Weeks 3 and 4. As for the Patriots, they don’t fare so well in Week 4 under Bill Belichick. Overall, the Patriots are 40-33 in the preseason under Belichick but Week 4 is they only week they have a record below .500. They are 12-7 in Week 1, 10-8 in Week 2, 9-8 in Week 3 but are 7-10 in Week 4.
New York Giants
The Giants have looked really sluggish in preseason play. They barely edged out the New York Jets last week 32-31 but their point total was helped by some brutal Jets’ quarterbacking. Prior to that, they had scored a total of just 18 points in their first two preseason games.
Keep in mind that starting wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Brandon Marshall are already banged up. Look for the Giants to be conservative in this one to protect their starters.
New England Patriots
The Patriots lost a key weapon last week when star wideout Julian Edelman tore his ACL. On one hand, it might lead you to believe that the Patriots will be extra cautious in Week 4. At the same time, they have a team that’s loaded with depth, so their backups could shine.
The Patriots have a very deep rotation at running back where guys like Dion Lewis, Mike Gillislee, James White, Rex Burkhead and Branden Bolden are all vying for playing time. Some of these guys – all of who have played significant snaps in regular season play – will see action. The same goes at quarterback for the Patriots. While we might not see much of Tom Brady, they have Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett – experienced quarterbacks – who will be running the show.
